Inflammation may directly affect the metabolic state of the bone-resorbing cells and thereby their function. In this part of DIONE, membrane receptors, intracellular pathways, and trained immunity will be examined that link inflammation to osteoclast metabolism and function.
These three areas are interconnected by three central (Z) projects that provide (i) access to clinical samples, (ii) central administration and bioinformatics work-up of the data, and iii) data management.
